ScanSnap Receipt Released In Canada, UK, Australia (And Others?)

When Fujitsu released their ScanSnap Receipt program, it caused excitement among many ScanSnap users, but that excitement quickly turned to annoyance for those outside of the United States: the software was available for US-purchased ScanSnaps only.

Well, awesome DocumentSnap reader Nekipedia tipped me off that ScanSnap Receipt is now available in Canada (see the bottom of the post for other countries).

Update 10/15/2015: ScanSnap Receipt is now available in United Kingdom and Australia.

How To Download ScanSnap Receipt In Canada

In the comments to my ScanSnap Receipt post, Nekipedia reported on an email exchange with Fujitsu, and their response:

Thank you for buying our ScanSnap iX500 scanner.

Canadian customers can download the ScanSnap Receipt software by filling in the request form at the URL shown below. Shortly after you submit your completed form you will receive an e-mail response with the actual download URL, a user name, and temporary license.

Nekipedia then provided further instructions:

The link brings you to the page “Download Request Form for ScanSnap Receipt”. From there you begin

Step 1: Enter the “PART NO.”, “SER.NO.”, “Name”, & “E-mail Address” then click submit
Step 2: Confirm your entries
Step 3: Submit the form

If your entry correctly matches an eligible ScanSnap product, you will receive an email [mine was nearly instant] with a link to download the product, click the link and after you enter the user name and password from the email.. voila – both Mac and Windows versions are available to download and they install and run perfectly.

They also include all updates previously released.

ScanSnap Receipt In Other Countries

Awesome DocumentSnap readers Michelle and David both pointed me to the news that ScanSnap Receipt will be released in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) regions in “Autumn 2015”.

When it’s actually released, I’ll update this post.

It’s not clear to me what the status of ScanSnap Receipt is in Australia & New Zealand. Aussie/Kiwi ScanSnap users, let me know if you’re able to download it.

Update 10/15/2015: According to awesome DocumentSnap readers David, Michael and Brandon, ScanSnap Receipt is now available to download in the UK and Australia (and perhaps other countries too?). They were prompted to download the new ScanSnap update, but if you were not, right-click on your ScanSnap icon, go to Help and then Online Update. You may need to do it a few times to download everything.

If you are in a country other than United States, Canada, UK, or Australia and are able to download it, please leave a comment and let us know.

It’s been a while, but I’m glad to see that ScanSnap Receipt is finally becoming available across the world.

Am I too late for the party?

Tried typing the address in that was given in the article, for Canadian receipts. Was not redirected to the “Download Request Form for ScanSnap Receipt” but to http://www.pfu.fujitsu.com/en

Am I doing something wrong?

SnapReciept and Quickbooks 2016. If you have upgrade your accounting software to QBpro2016, SnapReciept doesn’t support it. After 2 hours with technical support, it was apparent that Fujitsu is unaware of this conflict. I did find compatibility info in the SnapReciept readme file which stated clearly that 2012 – 2015 Quickbooks was supported but not 2016. Wish they would have CLEARLY stated that on their website. Since the ix500 is not a twain device, other softwares are not compatible, from what I have read and researched. I guess its back to manual entry.

I have an IX500. My serial number is not 6 digits. It is A13Bxxxxxxx. Where xxxxxxx are digits.
The request form rejects my request as it requires only a 6 digit serial number.
I have tried using the digits only but still doesn’t work
I live in Canada and ordered the unit thru Amazon.
Any ideas.

I live in Australia and have just purchase an IX500. Updated the software a day or two ago, but no ScanSnap Receipt. I’ve ‘checked for updates’ and nothing. Any ideas? Cheers

Hi Brooks,

I live in the USA (Alaska) and have 91 receipts in the program. Is there a manual or handbook so I don’t have to continually “discover” ways to do things? A referral to a handbook or manual from you or your readers that I can use here in the USA would be much appreciated.

I have your “Unofficial ScanSnap Setup Guide” but because of its generalities, found it of little use as a practical step by step guide. Maybe I’m just too poorly trained so far to know what you are talking about or how to use the manual. Others have similar experiences?

    Hm not sure what you’re looking for exactly, but there is a manual built in to ScanSnap Receipt. Go Help > ScanSnap Receipt Help. There’s also my ScanSnap Guide that starts on Page 66 for the ScanSnap Receipt stuff, but it doesn’t sound like that is giving you what you’re looking for.

    Maybe let me know what you’re not getting out of both of those resources?

Hi All, I live and bought my S1300i in Hong Kong. I updated to the latest software and ScanSnap Receipt is one of the options to download! YAH!!

but….

I live in the UK and have a S1300i. I updated to the latest software but I cannot see ScanSnap Receipt unfortunately.

Thanks for the info. I also updated my software a few days ago (UK) and got the whole package.
I tried Scansnap Receipt but need to get some tips on how best to use it.
I guess I’ll have to check on all those e-books that I bought from you to find out.

Hi Brooks,
Thanks for the heads up on this software becoming available here in England. I have an i500 and had the prompt for a software update a couple of days ago. I did the update, but receipt and manual were not checked on the install list. I just installed the ones that were, and thought nothing about it.
I have now gone back, checked the boxes and installed the rest of the package. Now I have the receipt icon on my Win 8.1 desktop and it seems to work fine.
I presently keep everything in Evernote and use Xero for my accounts software, so at the moment I’m not sure if I will use this addition. However, now that I know it’s available, I will review how I deal with receipts and use whatever is easier and more efficient.
Thank you for your continuing good work, accessible style and regular updates.

Brooks, I live in Australia and the auto updater prompted me last night that ScanSnap Receipt v1.5L20 (146.6MB) is now available.

However, I have no idea where you can download the installer independently of the auto updater should you wish/need to do so later.

    No, unfortunately ScanSnap Receipt is only available for the iX500, iX100, SV600, and S1100i, and S1300i
