As I’ve mentioned before, kids can generate a huge amount of paper. Nowhere is this more true than with activities such as mazes and coloring books.
Being both a geek and a dad, I’ve always enjoyed Wired.com’s GeekDad blog, so I was especially happy to see James Floyd Kelly’s post on how to transfer kids’ activity books to the iPad.
And it’s not just mazes — every coloring book, every seek-and-find book, and just about every activity book I’ve purchased for my 4 year old gets used and then thrown away, never to be enjoyed by my younger, 10 month old son.
Until now.
James’ project involves a scanner (in his case a ScanSnap S1300, though any scanner will do) and an iPad app called Doodle Buddy. I’m looking forward to trying it with my kids.
Do you have any paperless tricks for kids stuff? I’d love to hear about them in the comments.
