Fraser Speirs and Mac Power Users On Paperless And Education

Mac Power UsersI’m sure I have mentioned this before, but I am a fan of the Mac Power Users podcast with David Sparks and Katie Floyd.

Recently in episode 93, there was an excellent workflow episode with Fraser Speirs[1].

The episode is about technology in education, and while it is a bit iPad-and-Mac-focused, I think it is a fascinating discussion in general whichever platform you use.

There is also a good section about how Fraser uses his Canon P–150[2] and Evernote to go paperless.

The whole episode is just great, but if you want to zip right to the paperless part, it starts at around 1:07:00. Make sure you listen to the Fujitsu ad after that, because they are giving away a ScanSnap S1300i for those of you with Haiku skills.

For those of you with kids in school, how is your school using technology? I saw an eMac in my son’s school the other day, so that may not be a great sign…

  1. I’m not just saying that becasuse my son is also named Fraser.  ↩

  2. I reviewed the Canon P–215, which is the P–150’s cousin.  ↩

Technology has completely changed the way people go through a private school curriculum these days. Things like PDA's, iPads, and Notebook PC's have made learning much easier and more fun. In fact, you can even study almost wherever you are these days.
