If you use the iOS Evernote Web Clipper on your iPad or iPhone, you’ll be happy about a recent update – it now lets you add a tag when you are clipping.
(Cue Android users laughing because they’ve been able to do this for a long time.)
Hit The Share Button To Open The Evernote Web Clipper
If you aren’t already using the Evernote Web Clipper on your iPhone or iPad, go to a web page you’d like to clip and (1) tap the Share button and (2) select Evernote.
Apply The Notebook and Tag(s)
You’ll see that now you are able to specify not just a Notebook (which we’ve always been able to do), but tags too (yeah!).
Choose the Tag(s) you’d like to add and hit the Save button.
Your clipped Note will now be saved to the appropriate Notebook and with the selected Tags.
It looks like the change appears on the iPhone as well.
Why is this helpful?
Here’s how it used to be if you are someone that applies tags to things:
- Hit the web clipper.
- Clip the page to an Inbox Notebook.
- Flip to the Evernote app, find the Note, apply the Tag, and save the Note to the appropriate Notebook.
Not the end of the world, but still annoying.
Now here’s how things go:
- Hit the web clipper.
- Specify the Notebook and the Tag.
- Go have a beverage.
This is one of those changes that seems small, but can really speed things up and reduces steps and friction. Thanks Evernote.
