Evernote Rename Attachment on Mac and Windows

Evernote Rename Attachment on Mac and Windows

When scanning documents to Evernote, some people just rename the title of the note and don’t worry about the name of the actual PDF attachment. Others want to have the PDF named as well.

If you want your Evernote attachment to have the correct name, you have two options:

  1. Name the PDF correctly first and then add it to Evernote.
  2. Scan the document to Evernote and then rename it.

This post will cover door #2.

What stinks about this is that prior to the latest version, one used to be able to rename attachments in existing notes via AppleScript; however, the latest iteration of Evernote has made filenames read-only to AppleScript. It came tremendously in handy for PDFs that are scanned and emailed into Evernote (so I could automatically change the file name from “scan.pdf” to something else more usable).

I am a member of the group I have a question. I have a scansnap ix500 that i have been using for the past 2 years. It works ok and my wife needed a scanner so i am giving that to her. I have purchased but not yet installed the EN version of that model ix500.

When I install the EN scanner will there be a conflict with the files from the ix500 or am I overthinking this will it be ok or did I mess up by getting a different scanner I want to get deeper with EN your considered opion would be most welcome
