DEVONthink 2.5 Adds Sync Features

DEVONthink 2.5 Adds Sync Features

Devonthink Sync SettingsIt’s funny how timing works.

Just yesterday I shared this post comparing Evernote and DEVONthink by Joe Workman on Twitter. In it, one of the knocks against DEVONthink was its lack of comprehensive syncing.

Inevitably, the next day DEVONtechnologies has released version 2.5 which adds web sharing and (you guessed it) syncing.

Here’s an excerpt from the announcement blog post:

All editions of DEVONthink 2.5 synchronize databases between multiple computers and locations either directly or via Dropbox, WebDAV, file servers, or just any mountable disk. The new web server gives your PC and Linux colleagues access to the databases you want to share with them directly through their favorite web browser. And if you’re still fighting the paper flood you will like the enhancements we have made to the scan feature.

This looks like a nice update for you DEVONthink users out there. They’ve also added new video tutorials to their tutorial page. The video showing how it works is embedded before.

By the way, if you have been using the public beta of DEVONthink, make sure you read the instructions at the bottom of their blog post to upgrade.

For you DEVONthink users and tire-kickers out there, what do you think of the new sync features? Will you use them?
