For the past few years, the Productive Macs Bundle has been extremely popular with DocumentSnap readers.
So much so that I have received e-mails over the past few days asking me to write about the latest bundle from a paperless perspective. As usual, your wishes are my command.
If you’re not familiar with how bundles work, you get a number of different applications for one low price – in fact, the price of the bundle is often lower than some of the applications themselves if you were to buy them individually.
The Productive Macs bundle is focused specifically on productivity apps, and I have bought it myself every time it’s been offered. This version is available now until November 30, and gives you 9 applications for $29.99.
By request, here are some of the applications that I think might be useful from a going-paperless perspective:
- TextExpander: This one is a no-brainer. A computer without TextExpander is not one I’d want to touch. The bundle is worth it just for this. For one of the many, many ways that I use it, see this video that shows how I quickly rename paperless documents using TextExpander.
- Path Finder: Path Finder is one of those apps that I keep hearing amazing things about, but I have not gotten around to trying. It is a Finder replacement, and if you process your paperless documents on the Mac, I can see how it could really speed up your workflow. People who use it swear by it.
- Concealer: I always thought it was a password management app (and it is), but it looks like it also allows you to create an encrypted folder and store super-sensitive documents in there.
- Trickster: If you access certain documents or folders frequently, it is a quick way to reference them. I could see it being handy if you have certain folders that you are often saving things to.
- Optimal Layout: I don’t use this app, but I do use window management software. It is a great productivity boost – if you are processing your paperless documents on the Mac, you can use your keyboard to set up your windows just how you like them.
- iDocument: This is a document management application that looks really nice. I have had it on my to-do to check out and write about for the site for ages. Maybe this bundle will be the excuse that I need.
If you are interested in the Productive Macs bundle, make sure you pick it up before November 30. If you buy with that link, you will be buying me either a coffee or a pumpkin scone at Starbucks (but not both, Starbucks prices being what they are).
