It is amazing how much we can get done with PDFs on the iPad. The latest generation of PDF apps really are great.
That is why, when I saw this tweet from Eddie Smith over at Practically Efficient, I knew there must be a way.[1]
Anyone know of an iPad app/trick to pull a single page from a PDF and save it as a separate PDF? I got nothin’.
The way I decided to do it is with PDF Expert, a PDF app from Readdle.
Choose The Page(s)
First load the PDF up in PDF Expert, and tap the button to view all pages at once.
Then tap the Edit button.
Extract The Page(s)
For each page you want to extract, tap the circle beside the page and then hit the Extract button in the top right.
It will then prompt you for a name for your new file.
Do Something With The New Document
You will see that you now have a new document that only contains the page(s) that you selected.
From there you can send it to a cloud service, open it in another iPad application, or do whatever you’d like with it.
Do you have any other apps or ways that you accomplish the same thing? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.

Of course, it was over a month ago. It has been in my “Blog Ideas” Evernote notebook since. Sorry Eddie, I assume you’ve found a way by now. ↩
