Why A Fujitsu ScanSnap when there are hundreds of other scanners out there?

Let me start by saying that I believe in choosing the right tool for the job. If the ScanSnap is not the right tool for you, then go with what does. The important thing is what works for you. With that out of the way, here are some reasons that I think that the Fujitsu ScanSnap, whichever flavor you prefer, is the cornerstone for a truly wonderful paper management experience:

• It’s small, lightweight, and out of the way when you don’t need it
• It’s a breeze to set up and operate. A reviewer on Amazon said “This [the ScanSnap S1500] was purchased for an employee who does not like change & is not computer/tech savvy. Not only do they love it, they actually figured out how to use it without the manual….. it is that easy.”
• It has an automatic document feeder and scans both sides of the page of different sized documents. Just throw what you want to scan in, and hit start
• The S1500 comes with a great software for organizing, OCR-ing, and reading business cards such as Adobe Acrobat and ABBYY FineReader
• When is the last time you heard of someone passionate enough about a scanner to create a website around it?
